Trunk or Treat

Our church had trunk or treat last night. It was wet and drizzling but that didn't stop the trick or treaters! Jake, Hannah, and Mavis joined us and we had one very cute Minnie Mouse and one very cute ballerina.

Getting ready in Mommy's office

First we had to put the tights on.

Then the tutu..Zoey didn't want to stand still for that!

Minnie Mouse getting her dress on!

Trying to find treats before we even got outside!

Holding her pumpkin bag that became very heavy by the end of the night!

Talking to Jack the monkey!

We are joining some friends tonight to trick or treat in their neighborhood. We are definitely getting lots of wear out of our ballerina costume this year. I'm so glad because I think we have one adorable ballerina!

Trick or Treating at OFA

We had such a fun time at OFA yesterday. I had too many pictures to post so I just put the ones of Zoey's class. Ms. Renee and Ms. Sarah had their work cut out for them trying to get the one year-olds dressed, teach them to hold a bag, and walk around the building asking for candy! It was very funny but they did so good. Each class took a turn visiting the other classes and getting candy. The kids had such a great time. We are headed to trunk or treat at church tonight. Hopefully my little ballerina will slow down long enough for me to get some good pictures!

Let's go get some candy!

It was quite a job to teach the one year olds what to do....

but they learned fast how to put treats in their bags!

Fun times

Isn't Elmo cute!

Sweet Moment

Every morning on the way to school Zoey and I pray together. My mom always did it with me and I love that sweet time teaching her to talk to Jesus. This morning Zoey was in the back singing and I was very quietly praying but I didn't think she could even hear me. I didn't want to interrupt her singing because it was so cute so I just let her keep singing while I prayed quietly. All of the sudden she stopped singing and yelled "Mommy praying. Mommy praying." It was such a sweet moment that she recognized what I was doing. My heart just melted!

Life at 22 months

Time passes way too quickly with a little one! Miss Zoey Claire is getting smarter each month. She is definitely beginning to figure out that she is the only one and that often times she can get what she wants. Last night she was laying on the couch with her head in Joe's lap and her feet in my lap and saying, "scratches"! Zoey had a look on her face like this is the best place in the world because I have all Mommy and Daddy's attention!
Here are other things she is doing:
-can count to 10 all by herself
-can put her shoes on the right feet all by herself
-can say lots of three word sentences such as "Mommy drinking water." "Baby taking nap." "Daddy is working." Her speech still impresses every day!
-likes to look at art, animals, and still loves to take care of her babies
-WILL NOT eat much food. Thank goodness for vitamins or I would be really worried!
-can run and does so very frequently around the house
-loves to have scratches, tickles, and play games with Daddy
-is starting to be a Daddy's Girl. She has always preferred Mommy over Daddy but in the last week that has started to change. It makes me a little sad!
-is headed toward the terrible 2's. She is testing the boundaries with some fits, changing the subject when she is getting in trouble, and occasionally saying no but that didn't last long. Thank goodness I have read Shepherding A Child's Heart and I have my course of action in place. We also make her pray every night that God will give her a heart to obey Mommy and Daddy.
Happy 22 months my sweet girl!

Fall Trip

The leaves are changing, the weather is getting cooler (in the mornings at least), and my little pumpkin was ready for a trip to the mountains! Joe was off work on Friday so we headed up to Helen for Oktoberfest. We got there just in time for some lunch-yummy brats! We walked around Helen for a bit and then hit Jaemor Farms on the way home. Zoey saw lots of pumpkins. They even had a mini corn maze for little ones. She picked out our pumpkin and some apples to take home and enjoy. I'll take suggestions for something to make with all the apples!
