First trip to the Dentist

I took Zoey to the dentist today for the first time. We went to Dr. Lugas, a pediatric dentist that was recommended by our pediatrician. I was very impressed when I walked in. They had a children's area with a movie playing and cute seats. Zoey had a great time climbing up and down the theater seating and then they called her name and she realized where we were...a doctor's office! She clung to my leg and I had to pick her up and carry her to the room. The hygenist was very nice and did a demo for Zoey on Cookie Monster first. Of course we had Cookie there for security. When it was time for Zoey's turn she screamed the whole way through! They cleaned her teeth and put flouride on them. She has 16 teeth! Dr. Lugas came in and wanted to take a picture with us. It is hilarious! Zoey was so done by then but tears finally stopped when she got a toothbrush and bubbles to take home with us. The pic below is from my phone so it is not that great but it shows exactly how Little Miss felt!

Snow

Atlanta got lucky last week and had a little snow. We have had so much cold weather lately that we deserved some pretty white stuff. There was not much snow but Daddy still got the day off from school. Zoey didn't wake up until 9:30am which has never happened! (love the big girl bed-it's make her sleep forever!) Then we had a big breakfast and bundled up to play in the "snow". Zoey kept asking for a snowman but the snow wouldn't stay together to even make a little one. Oh well, it was still a great, unexpected family day!

New Year=New Bed

Zoey has made the transition to a "big girl" bed! We decided that New Year's Day was the perfect day to turn her crib into a bed. She took a nap in it first and did really well. We thought things would be so easy...and they were until 2 nights later when she fell out. We have a guard rail but she fell off because there is a gap between the rail and the foot board. Joe and I were watching a movie and all of the sudden we heard her screaming. Joe ran faster than I did and found her on the floor. Poor baby! He scooped her up and we quickly put her back in the bed. She didn't cry too long before falling right back to sleep! She hasn't fallen out since then but we put her crib mattress down for a landing pad just in case! I haven't finished her room at all but I did get the duvet cover and dust ruffle. They are so adorable and I love how girly it is. Here are some pics:

Santa came to see Zoey

Zoey sure was a good little girl this year! Santa filled the room and her stocking with so many goodies. She got a princess table and chairs, a dress up trunk full of clothes, a playdoh kitchen set, a baby doll, a baby doll high chair and stroller, cookie monster, and a Barbie Power Wheels Jeep. We are having to convince her to ride her Jeep right now but I'm sure by spring she will be cruising all around the neighborhood! She can't stop playing with her baby and taking care of it and the table and chairs is perfect for fun with playdoh!

Christmas Jammies

My other favorite Christmas tradition is one that my mom faithfully keeps going every year. It didn't stop when Jake and I got married. It didn't stop when baby girls came along. Every year the whole family gets matching pj's. This year the girls' pj's were the cutest to date! They were red with a flap opening in the back with their names on it. Too cute! Check us out!

Christmas Eve

So sweet and innocent

This year we packed up Santa's sleigh and headed to my parents for Christmas. The car was so full we could not even see out of the back window! We had so many gifts and I was so excited to give them. Joe and I braved Wal-Mart Black Friday at 4am to get all of Zoey's gifts so we had already made a fun memory together before she even opened them.
One of my favorite traditions at Christmas is to attend the Christmas Eve service. I was finally able to take Zoey to the service I grew up attending, FBC Tifton. My family filled the pew but the only challenge with the service this year was keeping my 2 year old quiet! Mavis was also there so we were actually keeping two 2 year olds quiet. They both did well during the singing but once the pastor started speaking we weren't sure we were going to make it. My cousin, Blake, was sitting beside my mom while she was holding Zoey. Zoey kept asking for Bibles and he kept throwing them her way...anything to keep her quiet! All in all the girls did a great job and I think they added a sweet element to the service!!
