One Year Old

**I wrote this last week and I thought it published but I just saw that it did not. Ugh!**

The big day was yesterday! Our Jude Bug turned one! I didn't cry all day but it was bittersweet. Jude has another ear infection so he was not his normal smiley self but he still had a great day. Zoey & I woke him up singing Happy Birthday. He, of course, didn't know what was going on but Zoey loved it. He wore his 1 shirt to school where his teachers had decorations galore. He had a party hat, balloons, presents, & birthday banners. It was very sweet. Once we got home we celebrated together. Jude opened his presents-a water table from Mommy & Daddy, water toys from Zoey. Then came time for cake. We had a cupcake since his party is this Saturday. It didn't take Jude long to figure out he could hold the whole cupcake & bite it. He loved it!
Since we went to the dr on Monday I know our big boy weighs 25lbs 12 oz. he just started crawling. He loves to talk while he is eating, laugh at Zoey, wrestle with Daddy, snuggle with Mommy, & his new thing is playing with doors. He likes to open them & close them. He still has 4 teeth & his favorite food is grilled cheese. We are so thankful for our little man. Happy 1st Birthday Jude Everett!

11 months

We are only a few weeks away from Jude turning one! I might have a slight meltdown on May 15th. I just can't believe my baby boy is almost a year old. Until then though, he is still 11 months old. : ) Jude has grown a lot this month. He is finally crawling. Yes, I realize this is very late but luckily he is my second child & I don't mind one bit that he hasn't been mobile. He can army crawl but he prefers to sit on his bottom & crawl like a crab. It's the funniest thing. I will post a video soon. Both of my babies have been very verbal early on. I guess it's how they make up for being late with physical stuff. Jude can say Daddy, Mama, all done, Grandaddy, hey, hi, and his favorite phrase is "hi Daddy"! He has 4 teeth & weighs in at 24lbs. I know because he had another ear infection this month. He is very snuggly with his Mommy and laughs a lot with his sissy. Happy 11 months Jude Bug!

10 months

Jude has had a rough month. Sickness just seems to follow him! He had the stomach bug for a week. It was sad. He lost some weight & just was not himself for a few weeks. I finally snapped a few pics but it was hard. He wants to move everywhere on his bottom! He has 2 new teeth but he still won't feed himself. We started table food but with the bug things have been thrown off a bit. I'm so glad he is still my baby ¬ growing up quite so fast!

Richmond

Joe decided on New Year's Eve that we needed a fitness goal so he signed us up for the Monument Ave 10k. We ran it 7 years ago when we lived in Richmond but I was not sure how I was going to train for it working full time & having 2 babies. We made it happen & on Joe's bday it was finally race time! We brought my parents along to help with Jude & Zoey. My dad decided last minute to race too. Jose's family joined us as well so we had a big group. My sweet hubby stayed with me and we completed it together in 69 minutes. It was quite victorious to cross the finish line. I am proud of our hard training & commitment to work on this goal together!

Spring Break

We had a great Spring Break! I love when we are all home together. Monday we took a day trip to Nashville or "the Nashlands" as Zoey kept calling it. The drive was really nice & we enjoyed seeing the mountains. Our 1st stop was lunch at the Pharmacy. We loved our burgers & hot dogs. Then we drove around & visited all the areas in town. The neighborhoods are so cute! We got some ice cream before heading home.
Tuesday we went to an indoor splash pad. I took the kids alone while Joe painted. Zoey loved it & Jude just clung really tightly to me. There was a lot of people so we only stayed an hour. Thursday we headed to Richmond!

Easter 2013

We had a great Easter! We went to Tifton to enjoy the 75 degree weather & lots of sunshine. Joe had Friday off so we got there late Thursday night. Friday we made a lunch stop at Mi-Lady Bakery. Zoey loved eating brownies & cookies. We dyed easter eggs. Then we played outside & grilled out for dinner. Saturday was beautiful & we decided to take the kids to the Agrirama. The train ride was really fun for them. I enjoyed visiting the Tift House but it was really sad that Bobbie was not there to greet us. The women working there did a great job of telling the story. Easter morning we went to church. Jude looked like the mayor of Tifton in his seersucker suit. Zoey was a doll like always. I love seeing kids decked out for Easter!

School Days

I am going to try & catch up a little bit since I haven't blogged in over a month! Unfortunately, we have had allot of sickness again. Jude has had pink eye & a stomach bug which he passed around to all of us. Hopefully the warm weather we are having this week will bring a wave of good health.
The first week in March was Dr. Suess's birthday at school. Zoey's class had a different fun theme each day. Monday was silly hat day. Zoey woke up very excited & put her hat on sideways. She then looked in the mirror & got so tickled & said it was the silliest thing she had ever done! She is too funny! Jude's class dressed up like the Cat in the Hat. It was a great week!

Weekend in Tifton

We just got home from a weekend in Tifton. It was so much fun! Jake, Hannah, & their girls were there too. Zoey & Mavis played together the whole time. They are finally to the age where we can just let them play & not worry about them. It rained all day on Saturday so after we got the babies down for naps, Hannah & I snuck out for lunch & pedicures. Then for dinner my parents kept all 5 kids so we could have a date night. We all enjoyed the time together. The sun was bright today & there was not a cloud in the sky. It was 70 degrees so we did a 2 mile run before heading home. I am so thankful for a mini vacay in Tifton!

9 months

Nine months is definitely getting too close to one year! I guess I can't make time stand still though. Poor Jude got RSV on Valentine's day. We went to the dr a few days earlier because he was wheezing. The dr just said to give him breathing treatments until he sounded better. And by Wed he was worse. So when we went back to the dr it turned out to be RSV & double ear infections. Unfortunately RSV is a long recovery. The wheezing & cough last for about 2 weeks. His congestion is better but we have to continue breathing treatments for a few more days. That has really been the event of his ninth month. He is 23 lbs & just a happy, smiley boy. Happy 9 months Jude!

Valentine's Day 2013

I love Valentine's Day! I don't need a big gift or a fancy dinner. I love all the pink & red everywhere. I love getting cards for Zoey's friends. I love hearts. This year Zoey was so excited. We made special cookies for her class on Wed night & she was bouncing off the walls! She signed each card for her classmates & picked out a special Valentine's outfit. She woke up at 6:30 Thurs morning. I guess my excitement has been passed down to her. We got everything together & headed to school. Her class party was cute. Everyone had decorated bags to put their cards in. They sat patiently as each card was passed out. Then we had treats. It was really fun. When we got home Joe had a dozen roses for me & a pink rose for Zoey. He also got me Godiva truffles. Roses & chocolate...I couldn't ask for more! We gave Zoey an AG outfit & her favorite chocolate. Jude got a sippy cup & a football toy. Joe got his favorite chocolates. There was definitely a lot of love going around the McSpadden house.

My Princess Ball

Joe and Zoey went to a very special Daddy/Daughter dance this year. It is called My Princess Ball. It was quite a date! They headed to Zoey's favorite restaurant for some dinner then they were off to the ball. Once they arrived, all the princesses lined the entrance to welcome each girl & tell her how she beautiful she looked. The ballroom had a stage, dance floor, & canopies with couches if you needed to rest or enjoy some pink cupcakes & Shirley Temples. They had dancers directing songs like the YmCA & Cupid Shuffle. They also gave each dad a ring when he walked in to give to his daughter during the special ring ceremony. Zoey woke me up the next morning with pics of her & the princesses, her & Daddy on a carriage, & she had to show me all her new dance moves. It was a magical night & I am so happy they could share it!

33

I turned 33 on Feb 2. 33 was a pretty chill birthday. It was on a Saturday which was the best part. I got to wake up & spend the day with the family. Zoey had a friend sleep over so Katherine got to celebrate with us. Joe brought home a cookie cake on Friday. It was delicious! We had a yummy breakfast Saturday morning. After Katherine went home we went shopping for new shoes. Joe gave me a Nordstrom gift card & I had no problem spending it right away! Joe & Zoey headed to a Daddy/Daughter dance that night so my friends took me to Stoney River Steak House. I had a life changing steak with horseradish on it. It was such a great day!
